Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has made a U-turn on October 1 on his decision to address with the whole country, which was deliberately commemorating Independence Day from Eagle Square, the venue of the parade.
Now Buhari will handle Nigerians through a TV broadcast at 7:00 am before heading towards the venue for the parade at 10:00 am on the occasion of the 60th independence anniversary.
The change, Sahara Reporters, gathered was not a deliberate nationwide protest together with the capital metropolis, Abuja, across the country.
President’s media aide Femi Adesina said in an announcement, “As part of the functions to commemorate the nation’s 60 the independence anniversary, President Muhammadu Buhari will be broadcast to the whole nation on October 1, 2020, Thursday, at 7 pm clock.
‘To handle all TV, radio and individual digital media retailers, the Nigerian TV Authority and Federal Radio Company of Nigeria respectively are asked to hook up community companies.
‘The president will then go to Eagle Square. Abuja will evaluate the anniversary parade and take part in various functions which are starting at 10 am, which will be made up of the main TV and radio stations.
