The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the Chief Returning Officer for the Ondo election as the Chancellor of the College of Ife, Professor Itop, Eyitope Ogungbenro Ogunbodede.
In a press release by Sei Makinde, President of PDP Ondo State Government Nationwide Marketing Campaign Council, it was alleged on the occasion that Professor Ogunbodade is All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate Rotimi Akeredolu and a recognized crony from a recognized hometown. (Owo).
The PDP claims that the election of Prof. Ogunbodede Ondo governorship will not be truthful in the discharge of its obligation due to the Chief Returning Officer.
“It has come up in our data that if the elections currently held as Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) can be overseen then the people of Ondo State will not get free and true elections.
‘We are specifically speaking in relation to the appointment of Professor Eyitope Ogungbenro Ogunbodede, Vice-Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo College, Ile-Ife as the Chief Returning Officer of the Ondo State Governorship Election’.
‘PDP as a whole Prof. He said that taking advantage of their affiliation may not be a good opportunity within the proceedings’.
The governor is to be elected on Saturday, October 10, 2020, and the people of Ondo are voting to vote for the governor, who will pilot the affairs of the state within the subsequent 4 years.
