The large number of cases which is infected from this virus is from East China’s Jiangsu and Anhui provinces. Where around 37 people were diagnosed with SFTS in Jiangsu and 23 were infected in Anhui. This virus is transferred to humans through tick bites. This isn’t the first time the SFTS virus has contaminated individuals. The current spate of circumstances merely marks a re-emergence of the disease.
The tick bites are first discovered by a team of China researchers over a decade ago and the first cases were reported in rural areas of Hubei and Henan provinces in 2009.
The health officials identified this virus through blood samples obtained from a cluster of people exhibiting similar symptoms. According to the report, the virus killed at least 30 percent of those infected.
According to the blueprint by the world health organization, SFTS has been listed in the top 10 among priority diseases. Virologists consider an Asian tick known as Haemaphysalis longicornis is the first vector, or service, of the virus. The disease is thought to spike between March and November month. officials have discovered that the whole number of infections usually peaks between April and July.
Mostly the farmers and pet owners are at more risk of infected from this disease because they closely come in the contact with animals that may have a Haemaphysalis longicornis tick. Researchers have discovered that the virus is transmitted from animals to humans like deer, goat, cattle, and sheep.
