In a press release on Sunday, military spokesman Moses Sagir noted that it is incorrect to say that the train is focused on protesters who are in main cities all over the country.
Sagir mentioned that the army is efficient as the protest began ‘about two weeks in the past’.
‘The attention of the Nigerian Army (NA) has been drawn to some social media stuff that unfairly condemns the Cyber Warfare Part of the train by declaring the train Crocodile SMIL VI to the Army and its management. This 12-month Exercise Crossil SMEL is scheduled to start from 20 October and run till 31 December 2020, it has nothing to do with any kind of opposition to any kind of legislation.
‘For information, Exercise CROCODILE SMILE is an annual train within the SME NA calendar/events forecast that historically occurs every 12 months from October to December.
‘Thus, it is now to say that this is a train which means that the continued SARS protest is at least extremely misinformed. Exercise CROCODILE SMILE VI has nothing to do with the continued opposition and somehow NA has no meaning within the ongoing protests from K. To date, the military has acted professionally since civil protests began in the past two weeks.
‘The military asked all law-abiding Nigerians to go about their legitimate actions, as the exercise has nothing to do with the END SARS protest, however, in efforts to ensure safety, NA officers and soldiers Got an annual opportunity to prepare. The safety of Nigeria and its inhabitants. ‘
