Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has expressed satisfaction with the outcome of Saturday’s governorship election within the state.
Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress polled 292,830 votes to defeat the People’s Democratic Okazen candidate Mr. Eyitayo Jegede, who garnered 195,791 votes, and Mr. Agboola Ajayi of the Zenith Party recorded 69,127 votes.
Akeredolu benefited from 15 of the state’s 18 original authority councils.
Nevertheless, the governor misquoted the three original authority areas – Akure South, Akure North, and Ifedore within the state capital.
On Monday The governor, who spoke on Channel TV, said that 15 out of 18 domestic governments had succeeded in the 2016 election with little increase in their efficiency.
He said, ‘I was shocked at what happened at Acure as a result of taking Acure South, Acure North, and Ephedor as an Acure. So, I’m surprised at the growth there. However, I left it behind.’ I will transfer further.
‘I believed that I was working in these three local governments, which resulted in people turning to us, as a result of which I could win in Accurate. However, that is fine with me. We will ignore that.’
He additionally expressed confidence within the capacity of his deputy governor-elect Lucky Ayedatiwa that he could be loyal.
‘Although what I say is that these kinds of issues repeat themselves, it certainly can’t come from the deputy I just chose.’ I trust him a lot. I will not see him behaving like the previous one.
